Freebie Friday – Oh Boy! [Pixel Scrapper March Blog Train]

I went a little outside the box for this month’s Pixel Scrapper blog train contribution.

I’m a stay at home mum right now, and have been for the last seven years. I enjoy it about 99% of the time but it can be quite isolating, particularly if you’re an introvert like me.

I do have my excellent family and close friends, and my small group of mum friends and acquaintances, but right now, my main tribe consists of my three little boys – four if you count my husband, but he’s not quite as high maintenance as my three (cute but annoying) stooges.

I ended up making an entire kit of all things boy. The kit is a giant boyish cliché because my boys happen to be a giant boyish cliché.

I am surrounded by blue things, and cars, spaceships, trains, LEGO, and an alarming number of varied toy weapons. (And a little bit of Frozen – which is also mostly blue – because my middle child cannot effing let it go.)

I’m starting to think that the LEGO and Hot Wheels cars multiply of their own accord when I’m not looking …

You can get the whole kit on Etsy.

Or you can have the journal cards for free!

I hope these cards come in handy if you have a boy tribe of your own. Or if you just like the colour blue.

Happy scrapping!

Freebie Friday – Jack & Jill [October PixelScrapper Blog Train]

I can’t believe it’s October and I have no idea what’s happened to most of 2019. Seriously, one second I’m up the duff, the next I’ve got a tiny baby, and now my tiny baby is really not so tiny anymore! Not to mention Thing 1 and Thing 2 going about their daily little lives, and my awesome husband being awesome (even if he does suck at stacking the dishwasher).

I’m hoping things will settle soon, but it’s October, I have my eldest son’s 7th birthday coming up in a couple of weeks and then BOOM – we start preparing for Christmas.

On the up side, in around 3 weeks I can whip out my Christmas playlists and drive everyone bonkers until December 26th, when it’s no longer acceptable to listen to Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas (Is You) for 12 hours straight.

Enough about me, onto the downloads!

This month’s blog train is titled Jack & Jill, a delightfully whimsical nursery rhyme theme. I love those big vintage nursery rhyme books, and I have quite a few floating around my bookshelves. Admittedly my kids are more into stories about butts and zombies than they are about Jack & Jill and Mistress Mary, Quite Contrary, but I’m ever hopeful that one day they’ll be intrigued by the gorgeous illustrations and simple rhymes. In the meantime, it’s more childish toilet humour for me!

I’m keeping it short and simple this month – and hopefully in the future because I just get way too enthusiastic and end up with way too much of everything – with a mini kit and a set of journal cards created using illustrations from an old Mother Goose book.

Check it out the super cute submissions here. You can get mine by clicking on the previews below to start your download. As usual, freebies are for personal use only.

Happy scrapping!

Freebie Friday – Winter in the Tropics [Pixel Scrapper July Blog Train]

I find that lately I have less and less time to do things. Little things that I’d like to do, like shower and eat and drink that cup of tea that’s been sitting, forgotten, on the kitchen counter since breakfast. (And I’d absolutely love to go to the loo by myself and when I want to, but I understand that’s at least two years off.)

So scrapbooking and designing has been flung straight off my to-do list. Hopefully it’ll slowly creep back on as baby Thomas grows older and (hopefully) starts sleeping on surfaces that aren’t me.

I do have a few things in reserve, and when my husband isn’t at work, on occasion I’ll fling the baby his way, pop on my very dated playlist (Backstreet Boys, anyone?) and bring up Photoshop. Then I have to remind myself how to use it – I’m rusty, you see. And my creativity seems to have buggered off with my brain. But I push myself and occasionally pretty things result.

Here is one such small, random collection of pretty things. It’s not quite a kit, but it has elements of one. I’m sure some of them will go nicely with the rest of the July blog train. It’s a beautiful one!

Happy winter!

Freebie Friday – Flower Power [PixelScrapper May Blog Train]

You know, I thought that having my kids at preschool and kindy would make my life easier and allow me to get things done. Boy, was I deluded. I’ve been wildly off my feet with all sorts of exciting activities; I don’t even know which was is up anymore, or what day it is or what the heck I’m supposed to be doing right now. (Shopping maybe? Shopping sounds fun.)

So I chilled out in that spare five seconds I’ve had this month and made some vintage-y flower journal cards. Hope you like them and find them useful. Click on the image below to start your download.

You can check out the Pixel Scrapper forums for some gorgeous and amazing flowery goodness.

Freebie Friday – Vintage Girls

I had these gorgeous images that I was using for another project, and I thought they’d make lovely journal cards. I love vintage ephmera. I probably have more than I should – I definitely have more than I’ll ever need! Might as well make use of it and share it.

There are four cards of sweet little vintage illustrations, in both colour and black and white.

Freebie Friday – Raindrops and Rainbows

My contribution to the Pixelscrapper April 2017 Raindrops and Rainbows blog train.

For this I whipped out Illustrator for some good old fashioned yelling at my computer and practicing my google-fu. Turns out I am still excellent at googling how to use Illustrator, and sort of moderately not-awful at actually using Illustrator, so go me!

Okay, so I’ve got a pretty (and somewhat blinding) geometric rainbow paper pack for you, along with some matching journal cards.

And then as a bonus, paper overlays for use in your own designs. The overlays are all yours for commercial use (T&Cs are in the folder for your convenience).

Click on the pictures to download the rar files.

Enjoy!
