Freebie Friday – Winter in the Tropics [Pixel Scrapper July Blog Train]

I find that lately I have less and less time to do things. Little things that I’d like to do, like shower and eat and drink that cup of tea that’s been sitting, forgotten, on the kitchen counter since breakfast. (And I’d absolutely love to go to the loo by myself and when I want to, but I understand that’s at least two years off.)

So scrapbooking and designing has been flung straight off my to-do list. Hopefully it’ll slowly creep back on as baby Thomas grows older and (hopefully) starts sleeping on surfaces that aren’t me.

I do have a few things in reserve, and when my husband isn’t at work, on occasion I’ll fling the baby his way, pop on my very dated playlist (Backstreet Boys, anyone?) and bring up Photoshop. Then I have to remind myself how to use it – I’m rusty, you see. And my creativity seems to have buggered off with my brain. But I push myself and occasionally pretty things result.

Here is one such small, random collection of pretty things. It’s not quite a kit, but it has elements of one. I’m sure some of them will go nicely with the rest of the July blog train. It’s a beautiful one!

Happy winter!

Freebie Friday – Molten Gold

I’m a sucker for metallic accents, particularly gold and silver. Shimmery metallic foils, glitters, shimmers – I love them all!

This week I have a gorgeous paper pack. The papers feature bold, dark gold patterns on a black background. The beauty of simplicity!

Happy scrapping!

Freebie Friday – Laurel

I have a cold. I’m sick and miserable and I pretty much hate everyone and everything.

But I am a creature of habit (mostly), and it’s freebie Friday – so here are some pretty green papers to brighten up your day.

I hope your weekend is more pleasant than mine!

Happy scrapping!

Freebie Friday – Storytelling [Pixel Scrapper June Blog Train]

Once upon a time – a very long time ago – I used to write. I wrote a mystery novel when I was fifteen (it sucked), I dabbled in poetry during the HSC (which also sucked). I journalled. I spent my uni years writing gloriously clichéd fanfiction (mostly to avoid the endless essay writing).

I drifted away from writing stories – due to a lack of time, motivation, inspiration – to documenting my stories visually, mostly through photographs and scrapbooks.

Maybe one day I’ll write some more …

Everybody has a story to tell – might as well make it pretty!

Happy storytelling!

Freebie Friday – Mum In A Million

I was hoping to get this out before Mother’s Day but I got sidetracked by my cute (and incredibly annoying) sproglets. But overall, I’m calling it a win – despite being chronically sleep deprived and in an eternal state of ‘what have I forgotten to do today?’, between my husband and I, we’ve managed to keep all three of our children alive, fed, and (usually) dressed.

I’ve even managed to sign and return permission notes and homework to school on time! That is, of course, assuming I get the notes before they’re due back … but that’s a worry for another day.

So basically, I’m celebrating myself.

And my darling mum, who still thinks my children are the best in the world and has way more patience for them than I do. LOVE YOU, MUM!

Head on over to my Etsy store and celebrate all things mum (or mom) with a bright and sparkly bundle of mum-isms, Mum In A Million.

Or you could just grab a set of complementary floral wallpaper patterned papers below. Click on the image to download.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums, bio and otherwise, the grandmothers, grandmas, and avós! And to all the dads doing double time!

Freebie Friday – Spring Flowers

I was originally going to go another way with my part for last week’s blog train submission, but the pretty floral pastels didn’t quite fit in with cleaning, so I shelved my original idea.

But I liked the initial papers so much that I’m offering them to you this week!

Happy scrapping!

Freebie Friday – Spring Clean [Pixel Scrapper May Blog Train]

The best thing about living down under is having everything upside down and backwards. Those crazy people in the northern hemisphere are bursting joyfully into spring as we Aussies are in the middle of weather that’s somewhere between summer and autumn and yet is neither – or both at once if we’re really lucky. Just when I think it’s time to whip out my cute cardigans, the temperature creeps back up and the weather says “I don’t think so, mate!”

So the ‘spring’ portion of this month’s blog train will come later on in the year (unless we skip spring again and go straight to summer, like we did last year – weather is whacked around here, yo), but I’m definitely feeling the ‘clean’ portion. Even if my place currently looks like the before picture in a KonMari article.

Anyway, onto the pretty things! Below you’ll find a mini kit, perfect for documenting your clean home (or not-so-clean, I’m not here to judge!), and a bonus alpha.

Happy scrapping (and cleaning)!
